These are the commands the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai for the Israelites.
The book of Leviticus was given on top of Mount Sinai. How strange is that. If you have been there you know that it is very rugged country. The mountain is 7,500 feet tall and not for the faint of heart. However, it was there that God spoke to Moses for 40 days and nights non stop with no food or water for Moses' break times.
We cannot imagine staying on a mountain for that long without some type of sustenance. We know that Moses was strong, but at this point in his life he was in his 80s. How did he stay up there that long? We must attribute it to being in the presence of God. He was in God's presence and didn't realize how the time had flown by. He was, somehow, looking into the Glory cloud on that mountain and really in the perfect center of God's will for his life. There was no guessing about this one. His was where we get the frase about a, "Mountaintop experience". It couldn't get any better.
You wouldn't choose this mountain to be part of a lovely tranquil scene, if it weren't a famous Biblical site. There is no vegetation, no water fall, no peaceful view. It's rather ugly. But this is where God touched ground some 3,400 years ago to give instructions to an 80 year old named Moses.
That meeting changed history.
What will your mountaintop meeting with God look like? Will it be hard or lovely. Whatever the case, let God do the talking and you write down what he wants you to do. It will change your life.
